The small fishing port of Limnionas is situated in the Northwestern part of the island. To get there you can either go through the town of Kefalos and head North for around 5 kilometers or you can go to your right off the Antimachia-Kefalos road, about 3.5 kilometers before Kefalos, just before the road starts taking you down to sea level. The place is picturesque, to say the least, and a score of caiques (typical Greek fishing boats) are usually moored there, adding a traditional touch to the whole atmosphere. As you come down to the port, on the left hand side, you will see a mostly rocky shore characterised by its roughness and bareness. There is a small cove and a pebble beach, not the most welcoming place for swimmers, but there are a couple of benches overlooking this bay and the view is quite impressive. On the right hand side you will notice the port, and a long arm of rocks that stretches out and protects the bay from the stormy weather that is quite frequent on this side of the island. The beach is a beautiful, relatively long stretch of sand and the calm, crystal clear waters will most certainly entice you to go in for a dip. Last but not least I should mention the taverna that overlooks the bay as you can get very good fresh fish there while enjoying the stunning view although you have to make sure you either eat early or book some of the fish in advance, as demand, more often than not, at least in the summer, far exceeds the supply.
